Why are you only delivering Tuesdays & Fridays?
As we ship overnight, packing and dispatching on Mondays and Thursdays, allows us to fit online orders around our existing commitments to our wholesale clients. We will monitor orders closely over the coming weeks and are very likely to offer additional delivery dates in the near future.
Would you like additional delivery days? Or do you have any other feedback for us? If so, just get in touch. We really do want to hear your thoughts!
Why do I need to order by lunchtime 2 days before the delivery date?
There are two reasons for this. For one, all our products are handmade to order and we, therefore, require some lead time in getting your order baked. Secondly, our current logistics partner allows us to ship UK-wide - which is great for a little business like ours. However, this requires for shipments to be picked up by 2pm the day before the delivery is due, in our case Mondays and Thursdays. If you combine the two, we felt a 2 day lead time enables us to fullfil all orders.
What do you use instead of eggs?
Depending on the products, we use two natural alternatives to replace eggs and replicate their baking properties. In the majority of our products, we use linseed to give our bakes structure, act as a foaming agent and emulsifier.
For our Italian Lemon & Almond Cookies we use aquafaba, the viscous liquid in which beans have been cooked. We produce our own by cooking chickpeas, as they produce the most neutral tasting aquafaba.
Which gluten-free flours do you use?
We are using a wide range of gluten-free flours and in fact, each one of our products has its own bespoke flour mix, which we tested and developed specifically to maximise flavours and texture. Our Chocolate Bundt Cakes use TEFF flour. TEFF is an ancient Ethiopian grain, about the size of a poppy seed, whose flour is ideal for gluten-free baking.
Other flours we use include white & brown rice, potato, sorghum, coconut, corn, oat and tapioca flour.
Can I order online & pick up at a market?
Not yet. But we are looking at a number of options to make that happen. In addition to pick-ups at markets, we are also looking into offering a pick-up service from our production kitchen. Again, there are a handful of things we need to look into and test before launching this option.
Why can’t I order your Chocolate Bundt Cakes online?
Our Bundt Cakes are fragile little things. Although we are glad we’d found a reliable and professional courier company, we decided not to ship our little Bundt Cakes with them. Neither you nor we would be happy when those little beauties arrive all banged up. For now, you can only get them at markets, the East Side Deli (Caterham) & Botley Hill Farmhouse (Warlingham)
Why can’t I order the Blueberry Muffins online?
For the same reasons as our Bundt Cakes. They are just a bit too delicate to ship. On top of that, muffins are best eaten fresh. As we ship overnight, it would mean you’d get them when they are already a day old. We just don’t think that’s right!
Are you planning to do savoury treats anytime soon?
Savoury treats are high on our list of upcoming product developments! We will share our latest developments and trials on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram so why not follow us on one or all of them? Alternatively, you can sign up to our newsletter. Not only will you be the first to know when we launch new products, but you will also get a few sneak peeks and the off giveaway.
Will you be doing any free-from Christmas treats this year?
Most definitely! We are currently fine-tuning our recipes for a festive mince pie, chewy gingerbread cookies and a traditional Christmas cake. Naturally, all of these will be free-from and lovingly handmade.

Are you making gluten-free/free-from bread?
We aren’t just yet. We get asked about bread quite frequently, so it is definitely on our list of things to do. We started with cakes, bakes and biscuits because our founder is a trained pastry chef. As he slowly but surely masters the art of gluten-, egg- and dairy-free baking that doesn’t taste free-from, he will tackle bread in the near future.
Are all your products vegan?
Yes, they are. All our products are 100% plant based. We do however have to point out that our chocolate may contain traces of milk due to being present in the factory where it is produced.
Which markets and food events can I find you at?
We are regulars at Up Market in One New Change (opposite St Paul's, London) every other Wednesday & The Pantiles Farmers Market (Tunbridge Wells) every 1st & 3rd Saturday. We will also be at the Woking Food & Drink Festival, The Pantiles Food Festival, Farnham Food Festival, Free From Festival Bristol & BBC Good Food Festive Fayre at Hampton Court Palace. For a complete list of upcoming markets and food festivals please check out our markets & fairs page.
Are you offering any (added) sugar free products?
Not yet. Our carrot cake is our lowest sugar content product at the moment. As we develop our savoury products we are looking to include added sugar and sugar free items to our product range.
Are your products soya free?
Partially. We don’t use soya in any of our products, however our chocolate contains soy lecithin. So, depending on which part of the soy plant you are allergic to, these may or may not be suitable for you.
Are you yourselves vegan or suffer from food allergies?
No. Although we enjoy vegan and vegetarian food, we don’t suffer from food allergies or intolerances. We started the business due to our godson’s allergies and struggle in finding tasty yet suitable cakes and sweet treats for him. You can read the whole story here…
